You ask this like any BMW driver knows what a turn signal is

True, but I am hoping Non and Ex-BMW drivers can chime in.

Hot take: BMW turn signals are not that complicated and every reviewer that complaint about them is just part of the problem. Admittedly, I didn’t watch the video, so Doug probably didn’t complain
The problem? Letting BMW drivers off the hook for not signaling.

As an ex-BMW driver I was surprised when this complaint started
popping up on reviews
. If you had the car for a day it’s fine but if owned one, it’s no excuse IMO.
And yes, I signaled religiously just to not fit into the stereotype.

It took me five seconds to understand the ones in my grandmothers e90 and on my friend’s range rover, there are two steps, if you signaled left (second step down) you can cancel with one step up or down; not rocket science is it? Though I’m used to canceling the turn signals myself anyway so its not a big issue for me.

I had a loaner X1 for 4 weeks. took me all of 5 minutes to work out the turn signals. When I got my ZHP back I was actually mildly upset that I had “traditional” turn signals.

Even with Tallboye Doug next to it looks like a 7 series

Agreed, it took me all of 30 seconds to learn how the turn signals worked when I first drove a BMW.
